• If you recommend a Friend you could get a refund on one month’s Broadband rental charges.
  Subject to terms and conditions and up to a maximum of 12 months refund in a twelve month period.

  By participating in the Recommend a Friend Scheme (the “Scheme”) you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

  1. Eligibility

  The Scheme is only open to existing UK Online Limited (“UK Online”) Broadband customers aged 18 or over. No additional purchase is necessary for existing UK Online customers to participate in the Scheme.

  2. Participation

  The following rules apply:-

  1. You may only use the Scheme to introduce new customers to UK Online who fulfil the conditions set out in these Terms and Conditions.
  2. You may not recommend yourself whether under a different name or otherwise in connection with this Scheme.
  3. You may not use this Scheme to change your existing package in any way.
  4. You must only recommend other individuals whom you know personally and who, in your reasonable opinion, would wish to receive an e-mail from you inviting them to apply for UK Online services (a “Friend”). A Friend can also be a family member.
  5. All Friends must be aged 18 or over and be UK residents and able to contract with UK Online.
  6. You may recommend each Friend only once.
  7. You may not recommend Friends who are pre-existing UK Online Broadband customers.

  3. Refund

  1. You will be awarded a refund of one month’s Broadband rental charges for each Friend who enters into a contract with UK Online for the provision of broadband services as contemplated below and we will also refund such Friend a refund of one month’s Broadband rental charges. Such refund to you will be payable by UK Online no earlier than three (3) calendar months of the date that such Friend has entered into a contract with UK Online for the provision of broadband services.
  2. The refund awarded to you shall be limited to a total maximum of a refund equivalent to twelve months Broadband rental charges in a twelve-month period.
  3. You will not be entitled to any refund where the Friend you have recommendred does not enter into a contract with UK Online for the provision of services and does not continue to remain a customer of UK Online for a period of three (3) consecutive months commencing on the date that such contract is entered into. This also applies if the credit card details of the Friend you have recommendred are incorrect or are rejected for any reason or if you have filled in the Friend’s details incompletely or inaccurately on the sign-up form.
  4. You acknowledge and agree that UK Online may debit your account with the monthly payment due to UK Online provided that where you have recommendred a Friend in accordance with these Terms and Conditions UK Online will, subject to the limitations set out above, credit you with a refund calculated as aforesaid.

  4. Representations and warranties

  You represent and warrant to UK Online that you have an existing business or personal relationship with each Friend and that it is your genuine and reasonable opinion that each Friend would wish to receive details of UK Online services. By providing UK Online with the names and e-mail addresses of your Friends, you confirm that you are requesting and authorising UK Online to contact your Friends on your behalf.

  5. Remedies for your non-compliance

  If UK Online determines in its sole discretion that you have not complied with these Terms and Conditions, it may, in addition to other rights and remedies it may have against you, immediately and without notice to you, withdraw all benefits to you and your Friends under this Scheme (including without limitation, by cancelling or declining to refund any monthly charges payable in connection with this Scheme).

  6. Limitation of Liability

  1. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall limit or exclude our liability for death or personal injury.
  2. Subject to Clause 6.1 above, we shall not be liable for any indirect, special or consequential loss you may incur arising out of or in connection with the supply of the Services including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of business, loss of goodwill or reputation, loss of data, or any other type of economic loss whatsoever even where we have been advised of the possibility of such loss or damage.
  3. Subject to Clause 6.1 above, and to the extent that we are deemed by a court of competent jurisdiction to have any liability to you in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise in relation to the Scheme, our entire liability shall be limited to the monthly rental charge payable by you.
  4. Any refund to you will become void if you are no longer a customer of UK Online, or if your contract with UK Online is cancelled or terminated and UK Online will not be liable to you for loss you claim to have incurred in relation to the Scheme.
  5. UK Online does not accept any responsibility for ineligible or fraudulent entries. You and your Friend will be deemed to have authorised UK Online to check the completeness and accuracy of the information supplied by you and/or your Friend. If you or your Friend have supplied incomplete, inaccurate or fraudulent information or if you or your Friend have fraudulently attempted to participate in the Scheme UK Online reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify you and your Friend from the Scheme.
  6. UK Online reserves the right to change, suspend, or cancel this Scheme or the Terms and Conditions of this Scheme for any reason and at any time, without liability. Such change, suspension or cancellation will be displayed on the UK Online website at www.ukonline.net.
  7. Participation in this Scheme assumes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions and agreement to be bound by the decisions of UK Online.

  7. General

  1. If any part of these Terms and Conditions shall be held by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid or unenforceable, this shall not affect the enforceability of any other provision of these Terms and Conditions.
  2. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall confer on any third party any benefit or the right to enforce any provision of these Terms and Conditions. For the avoidance of doubt, the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 shall not apply to these Terms and Conditions.
  3. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
  4. These Terms and Conditions represent the entire agreement between you and UK Online with respect to the Programme.
  5. These Terms and Conditions will be interpreted, construed and governed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales and the parties agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
