Switching to UK Online

Switching to UK Online

Moving to UK Online broadband from your current broadband provider is a quick and painless process.

Broadband providers have all signed up to a code of practice designed to reduce delays in 'migrating' to another broadband provider and to ensure you have no break in service.

If you already have broadband with another provider, contact them and request a MAC code to transfer to UK Online.

Your MAC is a code that will look something like this: ABCD12345678/AB12C.

Sign up with UK Online and enter your MAC code during sign up when prompted.

Your broadband service should be transferred smoothly to UK Online within 10-15 working days with no break in service.

Find your ISP here and request your MAC Code today!

Does a MAC code ever run out?

Yes, if you don’t use your MAC to switch to another ISP within 30 days of its being issued it will no longer be valid.

Will my broadband account go offline during the switching process?

There is on average a 2hr downtime involved during the switching over of a broadband account to a new ISP.

Will UK Online contact my old ISP to stop my payments to them?

No, we will liaise with BT to switch your broadband account over to UK Online, but you will have to arrange with your old ISP for any monthly payments to them being stopped.
