UK Online Consolidates Broadband Offering with New, Professional Quality Packages

Speeds of up to 16 Megabits for those reliant on broadband, whether at home or in the office.

UK Online is launching three simple packages, in response to customer feedback, aimed at people wanting a high quality professional broadband service for home, work or business use. With speeds of up to 16Mb download and 1Mb upload, all packages include unlimited usage, UK based 24x7 Freephone Support and 12 months free McAfee Internet Security Suite.

"A growing number of broadband users, whether recreational users, homeworkers, or small businesses are becoming increasingly reliant on their broadband service. They all demand but don't always get the basics of service reliability and accessible support", explains Chris Stening, UK Online managing director. "Our customers tell us that upload as well as download speed, the reassurance of unlimited usage and low contention are also becoming increasingly important."

The new packages are 'Lite', 'Pro' and 'Premier'. 'Lite' offers up to 2Mb at £14.99 including VAT per month, providing great value and a reliable service. For those wanting greater upload and download speed, there's the 'Pro' service with 8Mb down and 768k up at £19.99 including VAT per month. 'Premier' offers up to 16Mb downloads and 1Mb uploads at £24.99 including VAT a month.

As well as the highest speeds, it also includes a free domain name, business quality email, static IP and webspace.

Manoj Solanki of Broadband comparison website, SeekBroadband.com commented, "Competition is stiffer than it has ever been between internet providers and there are plenty of broadband offers to choose from, so it makes sense for customers to shop around for one that is tailored to their specific needs. Often, it is also tempting for a customer to base the final decision on price alone, as customers may find it difficult to differentiate between several offers. However, price alone should not be the only consideration, especially if you have specific or more demanding requirements."

As part of the development of the new packages, UK Online also surveyed almost 500 small businesses using the internet and their reliance on broadband is significant. Over three quarters of respondents said that they rely on the Internet for the success and growth of their business and the majority of respondents considered reliability to be the most important factor when choosing a broadband supplier.
